Gearbox Sports Malaysia Signs Neem Shamsuddin

Gearbox Sports Malaysia has signed Neem Shamsuddin, Malaysia's No. 1 Women's Doubles player, to its roster.

Neem, full name Nursharneem Imann Shamsuddin, is a 26-year-old from Sabah with more than 22 years of tennis experience behind her.

She picked up a pickleball paddle for the first time in 2022, and in four years has built one of the more remarkable rise stories in Malaysian pickleball, a journey that started with a GoFundMe campaign and has since taken her to titles including USAP Golden Ticket Winner, State Singles Champion at the PPA 4.0 level, and PPA 4.0 World Championship Singles Bracket Champion in Dallas.

Her current DUPR doubles rating sits at 5.073. She's also no stranger to competing on home soil.

At the Leapmotor APP Asia Penang Open 2026, Neem partnered with Wong Joe Yan in the Pro Women's Doubles draw, where the pair carried home-court advantage into a Round of 16 clash against one of the tournament's stronger fields.

Alongside her new equipment deal with Gearbox, Neem has also taken on a teaching pro role at 002 Pickleball Club & Academy, giving her both a competitive and coaching presence in the Malaysian scene.

The signing lands the same week Gearbox's Malaysia roster saw a departure of its own, sponsored player Xin Lim confirmed the end of his run with the brand and thanked Gearbox and his other sponsors for the support before moving on.

Neem's arrival gives Gearbox a fresh face to build around as its Malaysia lineup resets.
