002 Academy's New Coaching Course Draws Coaches From Five States

002 Pickleball Club & Academy is running a 2-day Advanced Coaching Certification Course on 15 to 16 August 2026, and coaches are traveling from Ipoh, Miri, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and Negeri Sembilan to attend, a spread the academy calls a first for a coaching course of this kind in Malaysia.

The course is led by Colin Tan, a Level 2 coach whose own record includes managing 14 teams and reaching 13 semifinals and 12 finals across Asia and Malaysia. Regular price is RM3,980; the current batch is discounted to RM1,080.

10 Lessons or 5, Depending on Your Level

The course splits into a 10-lesson program for coaches working with 3.5-and-up players, covering technique, tactical awareness, and program design, and a 5-lesson program for intermediate-to-advanced coaches, focused on match strategy, performance under pressure, and periodization.

 Both run 9am to 5pm across the two days at AC Center Court, AC Hotel by Marriott Ipoh, and both include an advanced coaching manual, on-court practical sessions, a certificate of completion, and a 002 Certified Advanced Coach badge.

Tan built the curriculum from years captaining top Asian and Malaysian players, describing it as studying elite players at close range rather than teaching from a standard syllabus. 002 credits MyPickleball and AC Hotel by Marriott Ipoh for making the course possible.

Built on an Academy Already on a Roster Run

The course launch lands the same week 002 signed its fifth new player in three weeks, Thai pro Ramon Narula. Between the coaching course and the signing pace, the academy is building on two fronts at once: developing coaches who can teach at a certification standard, and stacking a roster it already calls Malaysia's top-ranked team in pickleball team events.
