Back to Basics: Pickle Park's Foundations Series Targets What Most Players Skip
Andrew LeeMost pickleball players have a sense of what is holding them back. Whether it is stalling in the transition zone, losing ground in rallies because of footwork, or leaking points off a weak backhand, the gaps are usually clear.
Pickle Park is turning that awareness into action.
The Foundations Series is a new four-week training programme launching at Pickle Park @ Flour, Fire & Stone. Every Monday from 7pm to 9pm, players work through one targeted area of the game with coaches and a group capped at eight.

What the Series Covers
Week 1 is Transitions - moving from the baseline to the non-volley zone with confidence and control. Week 2 shifts to Footwork, sharpening movement patterns and court positioning. Week 3 targets the Double Backhand, building a reliable shot for both dinks and drives. Week 4 closes the cycle with Serve, Return and Third Ball - the opening sequence that sets the tone for every point.
These are not random topics. They are the specific mechanics that separate players who plateau from those who keep improving. If you want context on how the Malaysian pickleball community has grown around venues like this, our Klang Valley courts guide is a good place to start.
The Format
Each two-hour session splits cleanly in half. The first hour is structured coach-led drills on that week's focus area. The second hour is guided play - putting the technique into a real game context with immediate feedback built in.
Two hours. One focus. Eight players maximum.
