Wika Pickleball's post on the final describes a midnight match where every point had to be earned, and credits Quang Duong's composure and focus. He played with the Wika QD Air 2 paddle, which Wika says stayed with him through the stretches that demanded stability and speed. A separate Wika clip of the closing rally is captioned as the final two points of the championship match.

The Road to the Final

His run through the Wika Pickleball posts reads like this:

  • Group stage: 11-2 over Bernard Kyle Valenzuela, then 11-4 over Aldus Dela Cruz.
  • Round of 16: 15-8 over Aldus Dela Cruz, into the quarterfinals.
  • Semifinal: 15-5 over Patrick Mendoza, into the final.

Silver in Doubles Too

Quang Duong also reached the Men's Doubles Open final with Bao Duong. The pair stood on the podium with silver medals and a Men's Doubles Open certificate. "I am so proud of @ba0_duong who carried me to the final," Quang Duong wrote.

Cebu, Then Manila

The trip was, in his words, a last-minute, unplanned decision to come to Cebu: "It turns out a good decision." Ahead of the tournament he and another player signed paddles for a long line of fans at a Juego store in Cebu, and he thanked everyone who came. The PPL Cebu Open was played at Ulrak Pickleball Hub in Minglanilla.

He thanked his sponsor Wika Sport Vietnam and staff for their support, along with PDA (pdaconnect.org), PAC PaddleShop from Dumaguete, the Philippine Pickleball League and the Filipino fans. His next stop was Manila: a session at Dink Arena from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with paddles and gifts to give away and, he said, all challenges accepted.
