Selkirk OMNI Paddle Review: Malaysia Pricing, Specs, and Whether the Hype Holds Up

Selkirk OMNI Paddle Review: Malaysia Pricing, Specs, and Whether the Hype Holds Up

Andrew Lee

Selkirk built the OMNI to answer one question: what if the Boomstik's cult-favorite pop came with a dial instead of a switch. It mostly delivers, with a couple of things worth knowing before you spend RM1,200-plus.

Selkirk officially launched the OMNI across Asia on 9 June 2026, pitching it as the next step for the all-court category: a paddle for players who want the versatility to work a point and win the rally, without picking a side between power and control. "The OMNI eliminates that compromise by adapting to your swing in real time, giving players the versatility they need to truly dictate a rally," said Rob Barnes, Selkirk's co-founder and co-CEO, at launch.

Hands-on testing across the paddle's early reviews largely backs that up. It's a genuinely versatile paddle with one standout feature and one open question about exactly where it sits in the category.

Pickle361 Quick Take

Best for: intermediate to advanced players who already have a developed touch game and want one paddle they can tune between control and pop.
Think twice if: you're a 3.0-3.5 player who wants a paddle that does more of the work for you.
The standout: tool-free, repositionable MOI weights, widely regarded as the best implementation of adjustable weight in the category right now.
Worth knowing: at RM1,220, it's a premium ask, and it's worth handling the weight clips with a bit of care when repositioning them.
Pickle361 verdict: a versatile, well-built foam paddle that rewards players who like to fine-tune their setup and earns its spot at the top of Selkirk's all-court lineup.

What You're Actually Buying

The OMNI's core is Selkirk's ReactCore: a floating PureFoam center, wrapped in a PureFoam ring, wrapped again in an EVA Power Ring. Selkirk describes it as an adaptive system by design: the inner layers cushion defensive resets, while the outer ring returns energy on drives and overheads. Testing bears this out on court. Soft contact rides the inner foam and feels genuinely plush, while full swings reach the stiffer outer ring and the face noticeably firms up, a shift several testers noticed independently. It's an unusual trait: most foam paddles feel the same whether you're dinking or driving. The Omni doesn't.

The Weight System Everyone Agreed On

The standout across every hands-on test was the same: the Adjustable MOI Tuning System. Two 7.5g weights snap on and off by hand, no tools, and can be repositioned anywhere around the perimeter. The Boomstik's original weights could be removed but not reapplied. On the OMNI, Selkirk made the system fully adjustable both ways. "This hands-on customization is vital for all-court players because the paddle adapts to you, rather than forcing you into a rigid style of play," Barnes said of the update.

Shape changes how much the weights matter. The elongated shape leans on them for stability. Pull the weights off entirely and the twist weight drops enough that testing found it noticeably less composed on off-center contact. The widebody is more forgiving bare, thanks to more inherent stability built into the shape itself. One tester's favorite setup split the difference: weights off, with a light strip of tungsten tape added along each side instead.

Where the OMNI Lands in the All-Court Category

Selkirk positions the OMNI as a genuine hybrid, and testing largely agrees, with some healthy debate on exactly where the needle sits. Some testing placed its firepower in the low end of the power category, with performance metrics (serve speed, punch volley, spin) clustering just above market average without any one number standing out. Other testers felt that with the weights installed, it plays a touch more aggressively than "all-court" suggests, while agreeing that with the weights removed, it settles comfortably into that territory.

The honest read: how the OMNI feels depends heavily on your own swing and which of its many configurations you land on. That's arguably the paddle's real strength. Few paddles let you shift categories just by moving a couple of weights.

Durability Notes Worth Knowing

A few testers noted some edge guard wear on their units, generally around where the weight clips attach, particularly when repositioning weights often. It didn't affect play in any of the reviews, and Selkirk's warranty and customer support process is well regarded.

On spin durability, Selkirk's InfiniGrit surface is built for long-lasting elite spin. Independent accelerated wear testing showed real-world spin retention landing a little under Selkirk's stated multiplier over raw carbon, though still meaningfully ahead of it. The surface stays within USA Pickleball's texture limits, so the Omni remains comfortably tournament-legal either way.

One piece of good news for anyone weighing long-term availability: unlike several rivals now involved in April 2026 patent infringement case, Selkirk wasn't named.

Malaysia Pricing and Where to Buy It

Most of the online retailers carry the OMNI Asia Edition at RM1,220, listed as ready stock in both Elongated and Widebody shapes.

Retailer Price (RM) Stock Notes
MyPickleball.my RM1,220 Ready stock Asia Edition, both shapes
Dinklab RM1,220 In stock Both shapes listed
Picklefox RM1,220 Mostly sold out 1776 Capsule Limited Edition also at RM1,220, largely sold out
Selkirk Asia RM1,200 (sale, down from RM1,450) Sold out Lowest listed price, but currently unavailable

Approx. US$300 at 1 USD ≈ RM4.07 (10 Jul 2026).

One thing worth flagging clearly: MyPickleball.my's own listing states a 6-month limited warranty for Selkirk paddles purchased outside the US. Worth confirming directly with your retailer at purchase.

Who Should Buy It

  • Intermediate to advanced players who already have a developed touch game and want a single paddle that flexes between control and power depending on setup.
  • Boomstik fans who want a bit more control on tap without leaving that stiff, hollow character behind.
  • Players who genuinely plan to experiment with weight placement rather than leaving it in the stock configuration.

Who Should Skip It

  • Developing players (3.0 and below) who benefit more from a paddle that compensates for an imperfect swing.
  • Anyone who wants a paddle whose feel stays perfectly consistent from touch shots to full swings. The Omni's adaptive character is a feature for some players and an adjustment for others.

Pickle361 Verdict

The OMNI's removable MOI weight system is the real story here, and it's a genuine step forward for the category. Whether it leans all-court or power depends more on your setup and swing than on any single spec, and that flexibility is arguably the whole point of the paddle. At RM1,200 and up, it's a premium purchase, but for the right player, one who wants to fine-tune rather than buy off the shelf, the Omni earns its place in Selkirk's lineup.
