Top Three Men and Women in the WPR Confirmed for Hong Kong Slam

The Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam takes over Kai Tak Arena in Hong Kong from 19-25 Oct 2026. Hong Kong's Wong Hongkit, who won gold at home last year, has said: "I will be giving my all to defend the title."

Alongside him is the sport's top tier. PPA Tour Asia's poster names the top three in the World Pickleball Rankings (WPR) on each side: Ben Johns, Gabriel Tardio and Christian Alshon for the men, and Anna Leigh Waters, Anna Bright and Jorja Johnson for the women. The purse is up to US$1.1 million.

Venue: Kai Tak Arena, Hong Kong

Tickets: On sale through HK Ticketing.

Player Registration: Closed on 17 Sep 2026.

Registration Limit: Not stated in the tournament's materials.

Pairings to Watch

PPA Tour Asia says Johns plays men's doubles with Tardio and mixed doubles with Waters, while Waters teams up with Bright in women's doubles. It also lists Alshon as its defending singles champion from the 2025 Malaysia Cup, and says Jorja Johnson and her sibling JW Johnson are making their Asia debuts.

The tour's tournament page calls it the first PPA Asia 1500 event, the season finale, and the richest pro purse in Asian pickleball history, with up to 1,500 ranking points on offer.

Bigger Than the Pro Draw

The Standard reports more than 860 professional and amateur players across 24 courts. There is also a free-admission fan zone at the venue.
