Two Stops, Two Bronzes: Aiko Yoshitomi's Streak Continues in Vietnam

Aiko Yoshitomi has taken women's doubles bronze at back-to-back PPA Asia stops. First at the Leapmotor Singapore Open in late July, then again at the PPA Asia MB Ho Chi Minh City Open in Vietnam on 10 Aug, both times partnering Kei (@keipball).

Her mixed doubles run improved between the two stops too, a quarterfinal in Singapore with partner Len Yang, then a semifinal in Ho Chi Minh City with a new partner, Lucas (@lucasp_pb). Yoshitomi joked in her own post that both of her mixed doubles partners across the two events happen to be teenagers.

A Streak That Started in Singapore

The Ho Chi Minh City result was not a one-off. Yoshitomi and Kei medaled together at the Singapore Open too, and the pairing has now held up across two different countries in the space of about two weeks.

Yoshitomi described the Vietnam leg as hot, humid, and physically tough, but said playing in front of Vietnamese fans, with a travelling group from Tokyo cheering her on and Team Miyoshi supporters based in Da Nang turning out to meet her, made the week feel worth it.

A Full Roster Behind a Tokyo-Based Athlete

Yoshitomi signed with PPA Tour in February 2026 and plays under Team Miyoshi, backed by JOOLA alongside a group of Japanese corporate sponsors, Kawata Construction, CyberAgent Capital, Tokyo Kiraboshi Financial Group, and Toyoko. She thanked all of them directly in her Ho Chi Minh City post, along with a Da Nang-based corporate supporter, @taran.vietnam.

The PPA Asia result also lands in the middle of a broader hot stretch. Days earlier, Yoshitomi picked up her first Major League Pickleball win in Orlando, a format entirely separate from the PPA Asia doubles circuit but one more result in a short run of good form.

Her next stop, by her own account, is Shenzhen, China.
