Former Olympic Badminton Star Goh Liu Ying Medals in Doubles at WPC Malaysia

Goh Liu Ying, the former Olympic badminton player who recently joined 91 Pickleball Club's exhibition roster, has followed that up with a real competitive result on the court. She won Silver in the 19+ Women's Doubles Open category at WPC Malaysia 2026, held at 91 Pickleball Club.

Defence to Offence

The result was captured on video by The Pickle Base, which framed the clip around a specific in-match sequence showing Goh Liu Ying shifting from defence to offence mid-point, the same read-and-react instincts that carried her to the top of world badminton doubles now showing up on a pickleball court.

The footage was shot courtside at 91 Pickleball Club, with tournament branding from Protech XP, AirFly, Clinique, and Midea visible in the background, part of the WPC Malaysia 2026 event setup.

A Silver medal in her Doubles category is a genuine result, not an exhibition appearance, and it adds a recognisable name to the growing list of Malaysian athletes from other racquet and paddle sports crossing over into competitive pickleball.
