Marco Tan, 13, and Mason Tan, 11, Join Paddletek Malaysia's Juniors Team

Paddletek Malaysia has signed two more juniors: Marco Tan Yi Shen, 13, and Mason Tan Yi Hao, 11, both from Kuala Lumpur. Both were announced on 21 Sep as members of the Paddletek Malaysia Juniors Team, with MyPickleball tagged on the announcement graphics.

Marco Tan: Four International Trips in 18 Months

Marco has competed internationally four times in the last 18 months and is billed as a proven doubles player who regularly plays up against older opponents. His listed results start with a Triple Crown at Kidsnergy NextGen, across U14 Boys Doubles, U14 Mixed Doubles and U16 Boys Doubles. The Kidsnergy NextGen Series 2026 Pickleball Championship ran 29 to 31 Aug at Empire Pickle Club, with a RM19,080 prize pool and junior divisions from U8 to U18.

He also lists a silver in U14 Boys Doubles on the D-Joy Pickleball Tour junior circuit and a bronze in U18 Boys Doubles at a PPA Asia Tour 500 event.

In his own words: "I love pickleball because the sport is fun and I get to make a lot of friends." His goal is to represent Malaysia, win a medal for his country and, one day, be signed by the PPA Tour.

Mason Tan: Winning Above His Age Group

Paddletek describes Mason as one of the youngest names on its team, already winning titles well above his age group. His listed results include the U12 and U17 Boys Doubles titles at the Penang Junior Open, the U12 Mixed Doubles title at the Selangor Grand Slam, and a second runner-up finish, third place, in U12 Boys Doubles at Kidsnergy 2026.

Mason's stated goals are to represent Malaysia in all future tournaments and to become one of the youngest PPA-signed players in the country.

A Juniors Team Built in Stages

The team began on 13 Aug, when Paddletek Malaysia and MyPickleball unveiled the first cohort of their Junior Talent Support Program: five players aged 10 to 17, named as Norman Wong, Koay Janson, Catherine Liew, Muhammad Ariq and Kimberly Tan. The program pairs them with paddles and gear, and names two academies behind them, 002 Pickleball Club & Academy and Gee Academy. Kimberly Tan then took three podiums at Kidsnergy on 31 Aug.

Marco and Mason join those five, and their signings follow two adult ones. Paddletek Malaysia announced Jason Tee on 9 Sep and Safa Kelvin on 10 Sep, which makes four signings in under two weeks.

Both boys have put their next targets on record: a place in Malaysia's colours for Marco, and a spot among the country's youngest PPA-signed players for Mason.
