Selkirk Academy Debuts in Kuala Lumpur, Bringing Elite Structured Pickleball Training To Asia

High-performance themed camps, pro-level coaching systems, and certification pathways land at PLAYA Racquet Club starting 3 June 2026.

The global pickleball brand Selkirk Sport is officially raising the bar for player development in Asia with the launch of Selkirk Academy in Kuala Lumpur.

Marking its first-ever expansion into the region, the Academy arrives in partnership with Pickleball Coaching International, introducing a structured training system built for players who want more than casual clinics, they want measurable improvement.

The Academy will debut at PLAYA Racquet Club, bringing a professional-grade training environment to one of Malaysia’s premier indoor pickleball venues.

A New Era of Training Has Arrived

Selkirk Academy is not designed as a casual camp experience.

It is built for players who are actively chasing improvement, those who want sharper control, smarter decision-making, and a clearer pathway toward competitive performance.

Instead of covering “everything in two days,” the Academy breaks the game down into focused, high-intensity learning blocks. Each camp targets a specific skill set, giving players time to actually master it, not just understand it.

Three Camps. Three Skill Paths. One Goal: Better Players.

Every Selkirk Academy experience is built around intentional skill development:

Precision Pickleball

For players who want control under pressure. Expect heavy focus on dinks, resets, soft game discipline, and shot accuracy that holds up in real match conditions.

Power Pickleball

For those ready to add controlled aggression. Learn when to speed up, how to generate pace without losing control, and how to finish points with intent.

Competition Pickleball

For players who want to compete, not just rally. This camp sharpens match IQ, decision-making, and tournament-style pressure handling.

Camp formats:

  • 1-Day Camp: RM1,000
  • 2-Day Camp: RM1,750

You Don’t Just Get Coached, You Get Diagnosed

This is where Selkirk Academy separates itself.

Every participant begins with a live diagnostic evaluation on court. Coaches don’t rely on assumptions or generic rating labels. Instead, they break down real technical ability i.e dinks, drops, resets, footwork, control under pressure.

Players are then grouped based on actual performance, not just numbers on a rating system.

The result is simple: the right coaching, for the right level, at the right time. You can obtain more information and signup here

Feedback That Doesn’t End When You Leave the Court

Most camps end when the session ends.

Selkirk Academy doesn’t.

Players walk away with:

  • Personal video breakdowns with coach commentary
  • Highlight clips of key technical moments
  • Structured learning content from Selkirk Pickleball TV

It turns a weekend camp into a long-term improvement loop, something players can actually build on after they leave.

Coaching Designed Like a System, Not a Session

Every coach inside the Academy is certified and trained under Selkirk’s methodology, ensuring consistency in how the game is taught.

With assistant coaches supporting a tighter training ratio, players get more correction, more repetition, and more direct feedback, the kind usually reserved for elite development environments.

Beyond Players: Building Coaches Too

Selkirk Academy isn’t just about improving players.

It’s also building the next generation of coaches.

The programme includes PCI Level 1 Instructor Certification (RM1,100), with advanced certification levels planned in the near future, turning the Academy into a regional hub for coaching education as well.

A Clear Signal for Where the Sport Is Heading

Starting 3 June 2026, Selkirk Academy introduces a different standard of training into Malaysia’s pickleball scene, one that prioritises structure, progression, and measurable development.

It’s not about playing more. It’s about training better, with purpose, intensity, and direction For players ready to take the next step, this isn’t just another camp announcement.

It’s a new training system arriving in Asia.
