Melvin Cheong finally broke through. The former national badminton player won Men's Singles 19+ 3.5 DUPR & Above gold at PPA Ho Chi Minh on 9 Aug, his first title after two straight runner-up finishes.

Silver, Silver, Gold

The result caps a real form run, not a single lucky day. Cheong finished 2nd Runner-Up at PPA Hanoi and again at PPA KL before topping the podium in Ho Chi Minh, calling it a "third time's the charm" moment in his own caption. He thanked be.delon for keeping him comfortable on court through the run.

What This Means

Cheong has said more results are on the way as he keeps competing across PPA's Asia stops. A three-event run from silver to silver to gold is the kind of steady climb that's worth watching, not a one-off headline.
